Larry H. Miller Automotive Dealerships Help Local Youth

HILLSBORO, Ore. (Thursday, July 28, 2011) ? On Friday, July 29, 2011, the Larry H. Miller (LHM) Automotive Group of Companies will contribute $12,500 toward local youth programs via the Domestic Violence Resource Center and the Beaverton Education Foundation. Funding will be awarded during a brief presentation held at 1:30 p.m. at Larry H. Miller Honda Hillsboro.

Steve St. Germain, general manager of LHM Honda Hillsboro, will be joined by dealership employees in presenting a donation of $7,500 to Rhonda Coakley of the Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC), and a contribution of $5,000 to Kristine Baggett, executive director of the Beaverton Education Foundation. Monies will benefit DVRC's children's intervention program and an after-school program at Five Oaks Middle School.  

Funding has been provided by Larry H. Miller Charities, a nonprofit foundation that distributes donations in the communities in which the LHM Group of Companies conducts business. The foundation focuses its donation efforts on charitable programs that benefit children, with an emphasis on health and education issues. Juvenile diabetes (type 1) is a debilitating disease that affects the whole body. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) was founded in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes. The organization dedicates its efforts toward finding a cure for this devastating illness. Larry H. Miller Charities made a donation that was given to the Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter of JDRF.
